Amelia Earhart’s life was effortless on my behalf. Amelia was born July 24, 1897. Amelia was raised by her grandmother. While her grandmother was raising her, Amelia received a short amount of inheritance from her grandmother. In 1920 Amelia moved to California, to live with her mother. When she was up there, Amelia became fascinated with flight. In 1931 she married George Palmer Putnom. George is a wealthy publisher. Earhart died when she was 40 years old, in 1937. As you can see Ms. Earhart did not have such a hard life.
Ms. Earhart had many accomplishments when she was a young adult. Amelia was the first women to receive a Distinguished Licenses in flight. The United States Congress gave Amelia this license. When she got that license it gave Amelia more encouragement for her to do more with aviation. Of course everyone knows that she was the first women to cross the Atlantic Ocean. However, did you know that when she first crossed she was just a passenger? The second time she crossed the Atlantic it was her by herself, and that’s when everyone truly started to cheer for Amelia. In 1929 Earhart helped find the Ninety- Nines. The Ninety- Nines is an international organization for women pilots. Amelia’s husband, George, also helped find this organization. Lastly, Earhart was a very important figure in the movement to develop commercial aviation. Amelia also set records and goals for her to follow, so that she could be a better pilot. Setting goals and records was another way that Amelia became more famous every day.
Amelia’s disappearance is one of the biggest mysteries of all time. Amelia was on an all around the world trip. This was another record she wanted to do. If she achieved this record then she would have done that no women, or man did at the time. On July 1st, she left Guinea and was traveling to Howland. Amelia’s navigator was Fredrick J. Noonan. The next day U.S. Navy picked up signals from Amelia’s radio. They were hearing her say her fuel tanks were empty, and she was going down. After the radio failed, there was no trace of the crew or the plane. Sadly, Amelia, and her crew have disappeared. This mystery is still trying to be solved today. Scientist and detectives all over are trying to figure out this giant mystery.
Amelia Earhart had a great life. Sure, she died at an early age, but she still had a great, fulfilling life. She was the 1st women to cross the Atlantic; if that’s not a big accomplishment then I don’t know what is. When Amelia died, her death made her known for a huge mystery.
